What to know before you go

• EU/EEA citizens do not need a work permit, but if the work in Norway lasts more than 3 months you must register with the police.
• Ask for a written employment contract before you travel and check the company in the Brønnøysund Register (brreg.no) by its organisation number.
• Never pay for a job offer or a “guaranteed” place – reliable employers do not ask for it.
• Check your pay: on building sites it cannot be lower than the minimum above.
